Dual Credit Information Session

GREAT NEWS!

We are excited to announce that VCA is partnering with Weatherford College, Wise County to offer dual credit courses. These courses allow the student to earn both high school and college credit at the same time. Beginning their freshman year, students have the opportunity to enroll in dual credit courses.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS – INFORMATION SESSION

Dr. Matt Joiner, associate dean of WCWC, will be joining us on Monday, May 11th at 3:30 pm in the VCA chapel. This session is open to VCA students that will be in high school next year and their parents/guardians. We highly encourage you to attend!

WHY DUAL CREDIT?

Dual credit classes save time and money. The cost per credit hour for these classes is $80. Compare that to the cost per credit hour at UNT ($240), Texas A&M ($300), and Baylor ($1,500). Students that begin taking dual credit courses in the 9th grade year could graduate from high school core complete (42 college hours), or even with an Associate Degree!

WILL THE COURSES TRANSFER?

Courses taken at WCWC will transfer to any public university in the state of Texas! Many private and out-of-state universities will accept the course work as well.

We are so excited to be able to partner with WCWC to offer this opportunity to our VCA students. We strongly encourage you to attend the information session and find out more about this fantastic option.
